These terms apply to the VHSFin app from MarkDid, LLC ("we"). By using VHSFin you agree to them. Our Privacy Policy explains how the app handles your information.

The app

VHSFin is a free client for Jellyfin media servers. It includes no movies, shows, or subscriptions. You need your own Jellyfin server, or an account on someone else's, and you're responsible for having the rights to the media you play through it.

License

If you got VHSFin from the App Store, Apple's standard license agreement also applies. If you got it from Google Play, Google Play's terms also apply.

VHSFin's source code is free software under the GNU General Public License v3.0. The GPL governs copying and changing the code. The VHSFin name and icon are not licensed for use in other products.

Cover art

VHSFin looks up VHS sleeve scans from third-party archives and shows artwork from your Jellyfin server. That artwork belongs to its respective rights holders and is shown only to identify the titles in your library. Matches are automatic and may be wrong; you can reject a sleeve from the tape's menu.

Acceptable use

Don't use VHSFin to access servers or accounts you aren't authorized to use, or to break the law.

Disclaimers

VHSFin is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We aren't responsible for your Jellyfin server, your network, third-party services, or the content you play. To the extent the law allows, MarkDid, LLC is not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for it, which is zero. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that can't be waived.

Changes

We may update these terms. If we do, we'll update this page and its effective date. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the new terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
